More Reese

This is Riley and Raegan getting to hold their sister for the first time. Russ and I think that Reese looks like Riley and sometimes she looks just like Raegan. Kindof funny how that works.

Meet Reese Mae Sipes

This is our new baby girl. Reese Mae Sipes was born on Thursday, April 17th. Three weeks early. I was scheduled for a c-section on the 25th, but I actually went into labor. I went to the hospital at about 1:30 in the afternoon, thinking they would just make sure I was OK then send me home. Right after they checked me I started having contractions 1-2 mins apart. I dilated to a 2 and my doctor was in a different office 30 mins away and wouldn't be there until after 5:00. So they gave me medicine to stop my contractions but it didn't work. My doctor got there around 5:40 and I went to surgery at 6:30 p.m. Reese was born at 6:51. She was 8 pounds 1 oz. and 20 inchs long. The doctor said that it was a good thing we had her that day because she had a complete knot in her cord. He said it happened when she was small enough to swim around better. But the bigger she got the tighter it got. What a blessing. She is such a sweet baby. We are all enjoying her and loving her. Riley and Raegan didn't get to see her until we got home on Monday. That was really hard. Because of RSV they wouldn't let any kids in. They had waited so long to meet the baby, then they had to wait even longer to hold and kiss her. But, they LOVE her so much. They can't get enough of her.

Riley's adventures with daddy.

So Riley has been on some fun activities with daddy. Last weekend they went camping at the Mormon Bitalian (sp) Christmas camp. He loved that. Then yesterday daddy took him to his first ever Diamond Backs baseball game. I have never seen that kid so excited. All morning he has been practicing his baseball moves. Russ got him this cool jersey. He says that now he is the coach. TOO cute.

I thought this was pretty funny. Raegan asked for a pudding. It was just about time for bed, but I said ok. So she was eating and we were doing our own things. When I came back into the kitchen she had rubbed pudding all over her body. She LOVES lotion and rubbing it on every one. Pudding is a little like lotion--right? LOL!!

Proud moment for mom and dad

I wanted to share that on Sunday we had fast and testimony meeting. Riley kept saying he wanted to share his testimony. We have talked about his testimony and what a testimony is in the past. I knew that he knew what his testimony was but you just get a little nervous when they want to share it with everyone. So I finally got up with him. He just wanted me to walk with him but he did his testimony for the first time and did it by himself. What an awesome experience as a parent. He did a great job.

Ok, so I really think I have this blog thing figured out. I have been trying since Easter to get it going. So I have to post our Easter pictures now. We had a great Easter. Very relaxing. Our church starts at 9:00 so we let the kids have their new church clothes (that has become our tradition). Then we made them wait until after church to get their Easter baskets and find eggs. It was a lot of fun watching them. It is funny to me that when you are little you love holidays so much. As you get older they are not so important. Then you have kids and all the magic and wonder comes back. I love sharing these experiences with my kids. It was awesome to teach Riley about why we really have Easter. You should have seen his face light up when we told him Jesus was resurrected and the tomb was empty. He is such a sweet boy.
