First day of school '09

WELL the kids started school...again. I have been ready to start for a while now. BUT yesterday when I sent Riley to his first day of first grade...I was a bit sad. He wanted to walk to school all by himself. Yes we only live one block away from the school but I wanted to push in there in the stroller. He has grown so much just this summer. He was very excited to meet his teacher and find his desk. This week he gets to be the floor monitor--which means he gets to help the teacher hand out papers. He knows a few kids in his class from last year. I didn't want to leave him there, but he kept saying "mom you can go now." As the tears filled my eyes I was wondering if any other moms were having as hard a time as me. BUT, he is very excited to be going to school again. I asked him what his favorite part about school was and he said "lunch." He gets to eat school lunch. Yesterday they had spaghetti and today is cheese pizza--YEY!!! I am so proud of my hunny boy. What a good boy he is.

Raegan went back to preschool today. She goes for two hours two days a week. She loves being around her friends. She was a little ticked yesterday when Riley got to go to school but she didn't. I can't wait to pick her up and find out how she did. Today with them both Riley and Raegan gone Reese and I are able to spend one on one time together. She wants me to read a million books to her. It is so sweet and fun. I love each stage in my kids lives. Some are harder than others but I am so greatful for all these experiences. I am so blessed to be a mom to these sweet kids.

Riley LOST his first tooth!!

Well it finally happened. That tooth that has been loose for months FINALLY came out. This was Riley's first ever tooth to come out. He was so excited. It actually came out while we were camping in Eager (pictures still coming). It was night time and we were all sitting by the campfire and he shouts out, "It came out, my tooth came out." He rushed over to show Russ and I. Just as he got to us he dropped it in the dirt and rocks. We couldn't believe that his first lost tooth was gone. We all searched with flashlights and it was a miracle but Mel found it. Thanks Ninna you saved the day. When we got home from camping he put it in a zip lock bag and placed it under his pillow. The next morning he was thrilled to find a dollar. He kept telling me that he thought he tooth fairy would bring him ten dollars. I said I didn't think so. She never brings that much for a tooth especially since he doesn't brush like he should. He lost his bottom right tooth and that is the same tooth that he first got as a baby. SOOSO sad for mommy. He is growing up so fast.

Eager DAZE

This last weekend we went camping in Eager. It was so much fun (pictures are coming). While we were there our family did another "fun run". It was on Saturday morning. All of us did the 1 mile run. Russ did his first ever 5K run. He is so amazing. I can't believe 2 years ago that he was in a back brace. He ran the best he has ever ran. He got 2nd place over-all, and 1st place in his age group. His time was 21 minutes and 39 seconds. WAY TO GO RUSS. I'm so proud of him. The rest of us got stuff too. Krystal was 2nd over-all for the 1 mile and 1st in her age group. Molly got 6th over-all and 1st in her age group. Riley got 2nd in his age group. Melinda got 1st in her age group and I got 1st in my age group. Before we get too much credit--there was no one else in mine or Mel's or Molly's age groups--haha. Riley was with one other boy. Raegan won a fun game for being the youngest runner there. It was really alot of fun. We love being together and doing this as a family. Everyone won something which I think is great. They really did a great job putting this one on. It will defiantly become a family favorite.

Raegan's dream come true!!

Last week we got to go to St. John's to visit our friends. We went to the parade and then went back to our firends house to ride horses. The kids had so much fun. This was their first time to ride a horse. Raegan wants to be a cowgirl roper. They loved taking turns riding. THANKS MEGAN AND LARRY for letting us visit. We had a great time.
